What is a valuation & what is the process?

Within the last few months the Independent Advisors across the estates have held valuation workshops for homeowners. These workshops were designed to help homeowners better understand what a valuation is, how it is carried out and what is taken into consideration when arriving at a value.

To be clear this workshop was not about valuing homeowner’s properties but about the process that will be undertaken when a valuation is instructed or requested as part of a buy back or equity swap.

The workshop was attended by Jeremy Perceval, a fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors with over 25 years' experience within the property industry. Jeremy is a Registered Property Valuer and Registered Property Receiver who has experience in valuing, buying and selling with all types of asset classes across the country.

Jeremy gave a short presentation around valuations explaining the role of valuations, what they are and how they are undertaken. The workshops were well attended across the estates with many homeowners finding the information provided useful. For any homeowners who were unable to attend the workshops you can find a full copy of the slides used here.

If you have any further questions on valuations, buy backs or the regeneration of your estate generally please contact your estate team or your Independent advisor directly. If you wish to sell your property to the council please speak directly to your  estate team who will refer this through to the relevant team.
