Wimborne House update:

Engie’s internal work at Wimbourne House is progressing well and is on track for completion in July. We will update residents regularly on this.

Engagement on the Wimborne House:

There was extensive engagement with residents concerning both the rebuilding of the South Lambeth estate and the works to Wimborne House before planning permission was granted. You can see a report which details all of this here.

There has been no change in the plans for Wimborne House. However, Homes for Lambeth is talking to a resident about a possible minor alteration to the current plans. Any significant changes will involve consultation with residents.

Management of the Wimborne House works:

Residents will have recieved a letter from Guy Sanderson on 22 February 2021, explaining the reasons for the change in management of the works at Wimborne House.

There is a huge benefit to having one management team looking after both sites, as there is more regular on-site presence. The works to Wimborne House are scheduled for completion before the end of May. A further update will be provided to residents in the next newsletter.

Notice boards:

Regular updates are provided via a range of methods, including the notice board. A new programme will be posted soon.

Lambeth Council’s cabinet has approved our Joint Delivery Plan for 2021/22. The plan highlights the progress we’ve made over the last year:

  • 110 homes in construction
  • Over 200 resident engagement events
  • Identified 47 more homes in addition to the 4842 homes agreed last year, 2067 of which will be affordable homes
  • Employed five interns and nine apprentices, most of whom are from Lambeth

Sadly, COVID-19 has made it difficult to meet face to face, but Yvonne Williams can be contacted by phone or email on 0744 582 3726 or whyemge5@gmail.com

Lambeth Council are urging all residents over the age of 11 to take a PCR Covid-19 test within the next week. This is due to the new cases of the South African variant which were found in the borough.

This testing will help to identify any further cases and help limit the potential spread. Nine additional testing sites have now opened across Lambeth and we encourage you to get tested even if you have no symptoms.

For more information click here or call 020 7926 5559. The line is open from 10am to 4pm every day.

I’m Mikaela, the new Human Resources Apprentice at Homes for Lambeth. I focus on supporting the HR team with recruitment and payroll as well as focusing on the wellbeing of our staff. I have found that having the opportunity to work whilst studying was an ideal next step for me.

Outside of work, I am currently trying to become a vegan. I’m really enjoying finding new dishes to cook! I am also a huge reality TV fan. I must say that it is my guilty pleasure!

I am looking forward to developing my skills whilst working at Homes for Lambeth. Our staff are incredibly hard working, which is motivating me to work even harder to achieve my goals. I can’t wait to see what is in store throughout the rest of my apprenticeship.
