Planning application for Fenwick Place submitted to Lambeth Council

Homes for Lambeth has submitted a planning application to Lambeth’s Planning Department for Fenwick Place. The application provides 27 new high-quality homes 50% of which will be affordable homes.

Fenwick Place forms the second phase of the rebuilding of Fenwick Estate. It follows the plans by TfL to build 55 new affordable homes on Fenwick South which were approved by Lambeth Council. These enabling phases will progress the wider estate rebuilding of Fenwick Estate to provide more high-quality, affordable homes.

Commenting on the news, Jitinder Takhar, Chief Executive of Homes for Lambeth said:

“HFL is pleased that we have submitted another planning application to Lambeth Council. The latest here at Fenwick will make a positive impact by delivering more and better homes for Lambeth residents.

COVID 19 has made us all aware of the importance of high-quality, affordable homes and Homes for Lambeth are delivering those homes as part of the housing, health and economic recovery in Lambeth.”

Councillor Matthew Bennett, Lambeth’s Lead Member for Planning, Investment & New Homes remarked:

“I’m really pleased to see us take another step forward to build better homes for the residents of the Fenwick estate. This second phase will deliver much-needed family-sized council homes, so that local families have great places to live.”

Stewart Davenport, Chair of Homes for Lambeth Build Board, welcomed the news and said:

“We have a duty and a responsibility to both our residents and to our local economy to build more and better homes. Although the pressures of COVID has introduced more challenges, we remain unwavering in our determination to deliver the better homes our residents deserve.”
