Over the coming weeks, we will be conducting several short interviews with members of the Homes for Lambeth team.
Today Jason Emile, our Development Director, is in the hot seat:
Q: What does a Development Director do?
A: My role covers a wide range of work from pre-development through to the delivery of homes. These responsibilities mean no one day is the same, part of the day I could be looking at designs for new homes, later that day I could be visiting a construction site and in the evening engaging with residents at one of our residents' events.
Q: What did you do before you came to work for Homes for Lambeth?
A: I have worked in the housing sector for more than 20 years. This included working for Mount Anvil and Berkeley Homes.
Q: Why did you come to work for Homes for Lambeth?
A: I'm passionate about making sure everyone has a good quality home. I was fortunate as a child to grow up in a well designed, built and looked after council estate in London. This gave my Irish mum and Mauritian dad the foundations they needed to create a stable home for me. Without that, I would not have been able to pursue my dreams, and I would not have ended up where I am now.
Q: What do you do in your spare time?
A: I can be found exploring architecture and sports. My main passion is football. For my sins, I'm a Manchester United supporter.
