We were delighted to welcome Councillor Matthew Bennett, Lambeth’s Lead on Planning, Investment & New Homes; Wendy Stokes, Chair of Homes for Lambeth Living Board; and local ward member, Councillor Jon Davies to Knights Walk.
Our contractors, Hills, have made significant progress in bringing forward the new 16 council homes which will be completed in 2021 as part of the first phase of the estate rebuilding programme.

Since the works restarted on-site Hill's have put in place several mitigations to ensure the construction works have as little impact on neighbouring residents, some of these mitigations include;
- Carrying out demolition works after 9am and taking regular breaks to reduce disruption
- Installation of acoustic mats around noisy areas to reduce noise
- Staff stairs covered to stop overlooking into neighbouring gardens
- External lighting on hoardings to improve street lighting and safety
Councillor Matthew Bennett remarked:
“I was delighted to see the progress that Homes for Lambeth are making in rebuilding Knight’s Walk. The scheme will provide high-quality new council homes for residents like Alex who told me how much she was looking forward to being able to move in.
“Our estate regeneration programme is building a new generation of council homes for the people of Lambeth; providing better homes for our existing tenants and helping families who are overcrowded or homeless into a secure, genuinely affordable, home for life.”
