In June 2020, Lambeth's Planning Applications Committee approved Homes for Lambeth's planning application on a former ballcourt site on Hydethorpe Road. The proposed development will deliver an additional 14 new homes, including 6 new affordable homes.
Homes for Lambeth submitted the proposals to Lambeth Council in April 2020, following public consultation events in December 2019.
The proposals will significantly improve the quality, appearance and usability of the existing communal amenity space on the site, including new planting and playspace. Furthermore, new tree planting and landscaping will also be provided along Hydethorpe Road and Thornton Road to improve the quality and appearance of the street and public realm.
All new homes will comply with the Mayor of London’s residential standards and be provided with private amenity space. The new homes comprise high-quality architectural design which seeks to provide an attractive and safe place for people to live and visit. The development will be car-free and encourages sustainable modes of transport with the provision of secure cycle parking for all residents.
