Homes for Lambeth partners with O2 and Hubbub to address the digital divide

Homes for Lambeth was founded with a clear social mission - investing in our communities so they can thrive; to create better futures for our residents.

As part of this commitment, we have launched our digital inclusion programme. The pandemic has highlighted how some sections of our community have been left behind, with limited access to the opportunity of digital devices and services.

Over the next year, our residents who do not have access to digital equipment, internet access or who have limited data to get online will be able to make the most of the opportunities available, including those provided through our programme of activities.

We have partnered with Hubbub and their Community Calling campaign, which aims to support individuals both during and after the COVID-19 pandemic by re-homing old smartphones that have been donated to them.

Hubbub and O2 are working with Homes for Lambeth as they have donated up to 100 phones to our Digital Inclusion programme. Each beneficiary will receive a phone with 12 months free credit provided by O2, and access to free skills and training from our Social Investment team.

As part of Homes for Lambeth’s Digital Inclusion programme, we pledge to:

  • Loan up to 40 laptops and 10 tablets with data to residents in need for a period of 6 months
  • Donate up to 100 hubbub phones
  • Provide Wi-Fi and access to laptops at each of the community hubs for one day a week
  • Provide 1-1 support and training
  • Recruit and train volunteer digital buddies to support you to get online
