Phase Two of Fenwick Place - Approved

We are pleased to announce that Lambeth Council’s Planning Committee approved the proposals to build 27 new homes at Fenwick Place. The new homes will be 50% affordable, including eight homes at council level rent. The homes will be prioritised for secure tenants and resident homeowners currently living on Fenwick Estate. The proposals include three
wheelchair accessible homes and a new communal garden for residents.

Hub Refurbishment

We are working to refurbish the community hub at 66 Willington Road. Due to Government COVID-19 restrictions, we have not been able to use the hub. However, we are preparing the hub to make it COVID secure, so it can be a point of contact for meeting your REO and LBL staff. We are hoping to run a range of activities from there.

If you have any suggestions of how best the hub could be used, please provide your views to David Silvey via email [email protected] or call 020 79265 288.

We’re looking to recruit residents to join our new Resident Engagement Panel (REP). The REP will meet monthly and will give residents the opportunity to get involved in the discussions about the rebuilding of Fenwick Estate. We will be discussing the REP at our resident meeting on Tuesday 16 March, 6 to 7pm.

Thank you to those residents that have expressed an interest in joining the Panel. If you would like more information contact David Silvey on 020 79265 288.

Hopefully it will not be too long before we can see each other face to face again. We are here to support Residents on the
Fenwick Estate through the regeneration process. Residents can contact us about their concerns around their tenancy or their buyback concerns for Leaseholders and Freeholders.

Our contact details are as follows:

Willington Road Youth & Community Hub seeks to build on the Youth work values of empowering young people to run, direct, speak for and advance their youth projects by being creators of delivery and not just consumers. We want to start with an Easter Playscheme through feedback from young people and the community.

Due to Covid-19, we will be running all activities within Government guidelines. This will mean working within support bubbles and induction of a registration system.

I’m Naomi Velez, the new Business Administration Support Apprentice. My role involves working closely with the Executive Assistant to the CEO. I set up meetings, provide administrative support, organise staff events, and get involved in different projects within other teams at Homes for Lambeth.

I joined Homes for Lambeth because I wanted to develop my existing skills and learn more about the administrative field. I also feel that HFL’s goals and values align with my own. This has made me appreciate the work that they do even more.

One thing that I am proud of in my career is the work I did as a prosthetics artist trainee. Seeing what I helped create being exhibited was a wonderful moment. Through my apprenticeship, I want to learn as much as I can and build my confidence. I hope to understand myself more and what I am capable of.
