An update from Councillor Dr Mahamed Hashi

Dear Resident,

Re: South Lambeth Estate "Residents' Voice" session

I am writing to you following my letter of 1 July inviting you to a meeting at 6pm on the 20 July which I had arranged with the council and Homes for Lambeth.

Residents will be aware from the recent Homes for Lambeth newsletter; there is currently a contractual issue with Engie, the contractor, doing the work. This is disappointing and both the council and Homes for Lambeth would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused to residents by this pause in the improvement works to Wimborne House.

Both the council and Homes for Lambeth had hoped that these issues would have been resolved to allow a full update on the Engie works, including the new canopy design, on Tuesday. This hasn't proved possible. As a result, I am delaying my meeting so residents can get all the information they need.

Also, interest in attending the meeting has been lower than I had hoped for although I suspect that the persistence of the Covid-19 virus in Lambeth is a major factor in this. I will write again shortly with the details for the rearranged meeting.

In the meantime, the Your Team event will still go ahead on the 20 July from 2pm - 5pm. A number of council and Homes for Lambeth staff will be available to talk to and they would love to hear from you. The details of the event are:

  • What day?
  • What time?
  • Where on the estate?

To ensure that we conform to the current Covid rules and best practise, Homes for Lambeth are booking specific slots for residents. Residents can book their slot by: 1) Going to https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/south-lambeth-your-team-event-tickets-160980279349 2) Or contact Maxine on southlambeth@homesforlambeth.co.uk or 07588 561771. Yours sincerely,
